Clean Oatmeal Cookie Bites

While searching for Daniel Fast snacks I can across a recipe close to this one on pinterest (source unknown).  I made a few changes and when I realized I had everything I needed I made them instantly.










Mix the following in a bowl:
  • 1 1/2 Cups of Oats
  • 2-3 Ripe Bananas
  • 1 Cup unsweetened applesauce 
  • Cinnamon to taste
  • Raisins*
  • Walnuts*
* Could also use cranberries or nut of choice. 

Going to store these bad boys and this will be great when I need a little snack and don't have time to put much effort in making something! Also would be good for breakfast in a hurry!

21 Day Daniel Fast

To kick off the New Year and to also prove to myself I still have self-discipline I am joining my church in a 21 day Daniel Fast. There are many resources online explaining the fast.  Right now my biggest struggle is the headaches. I know its my body detoxing likely from caffeine and sugar. I also find myself hungry, a lot! Being the only one in the house doing the fast is challenging as well. I still cook for my boyfriend and daughter non Daniel Fast friendly meals.  But after many searches on meals I CAN eat ( thank you pinterest!) I should do better this week and after all I only have two more weeks!
After the Fast I plan to continue  avoiding dairy, sugar, processed foods, and most meats. Nothing like a new year to get back on track!
